Fitness & Pilates Workshops

Pilates & fitness workshops to help you get started and keep going

We offer conditioning classes and Pilates reformer workouts 7 days a week, but if you are looking to learn important Pilates, fitness, or conditioning techniques so that you work out correctly, or are guided through an exercise routine over a period of time (great accountability), workshops are a great option. Often an entry point when you are new or returning to a workout routine, workshops are taught by certified fitness and Pilates instructors, and will help you progress and feel confident about your workout. Workshops are generally 4 to 6 weeks in length. Attending regularly for a set period of time will motivate you and hold you accountable.

See the upcoming workshops below.

*All workshops require enrollment ahead of time and are non-refundable after enrollment.

Better Balance for Active Aging

Better Balance & Movement Workshop

A 4-week workshop OFFERED AT NO COST

Don’t let a fall rob you of your independence! Discover the secrets to improving your balance and maintaining your mobility throughout life.

According to the CDC, every second of every day in the United States an older adult falls, making falls the number one cause of injuries and deaths from injury among older Americans. The good news is that many falls can be prevented.

This workshop will focus on promoting and maintaining balance, coordination, and posture through a series of simple and repetitive brain and muscle exercises. The goal of ongoing balance training is to teach your brain through cognitive training exercises how to quickly activate the right muscles in your body at the right time to help keep you upright.

For the older adult, or those dealing with the affects of neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and stroke. It can also be helpful for individuals recovering from injury, experiencing declining vision, hearing and muscle strength.

Family members and caregivers are welcome to attend as well.

Held at Ballet Austin, 501 W. 3rd St. Call 512.501.8704 if you have questions.

Instructor: Vicki Parsons, Ballet Austin's Butler Center for Dance & Fitness Director

Post-operative Workout for Breast Cancer Rehabilitation

Pink Pilates Post-Operative Workshop

Ballet Austin's Pink Pilates Program is a post-operative exercise and rehabilitative program for women recovering from breast cancer.

More than just exercise, we offer care, confidence building, encouragement, and a warm and therapeutic environment. The weekly class is held in our beautiful center for dance and community wellness, a non-medical, happy, mainstream environment that allows for encouragement and rehabilitation.

The Pink Pilates Program will help stretch and strengthen the shoulder, chest, back, and abdominal muscles, allowing women to regain full range of motion to those areas affected by breast cancer surgery.

This program is suitable for women recovering from a recent surgery or from several years ago. It is recommended that women wait 4-6 weeks post op before enrolling in the course.

Each class will offer strengthening, self-esteem and quality of life to breast cancer survivors. The program works in conjunction with your doctor's recommendations for an exercise program.

We look forward to being a part of your full recovery.
