FEMMES DE FORCE

Women of Strength

THROUGHOUT HISTORY, WOMEN HAVE GIVEN LIFE TO ART AS CREATORS, PERFORMERS, PATRONS, COLLECTORS, TEACHERS, CRITICS, AND MUSES FOR THOSE SEEKING INSPIRATION...

You’ll witness their influence through our new season, highlighting female artists, choreographers, and characters as diverse and dynamic as the dance works we’re bringing you. Together, we’ll explore themes universal to the human experience—sacrifice, courage, sensuality, temptation, acceptance, and forgiveness—while celebrating the unique perspectives female artists bring to the stage. Our 2018/19 FEMMES DE FORCE season includes a collection of classical ballets, contemporary works, and an exciting world premiere!

GRIMM TALES is a contemporary retelling of some of society’s best-known cautionary tales. It was inspired by the thought-provoking visual art of Austin native Natalie Frank, whose work explores themes of power, sexuality, gender, feminism, and identity. Grimm Tales is our first dance work underwritten through the generosity of the Butler New Choreography Endowment. Look for its debut in March 2019.

Your seat is waiting for these popular productions, along with a chance to elevate your experience as a BALLET AUSTIN VIP. As a donor, you’ll enjoy exclusive bene ts at the theater while joining our mission to create new dance works.

Look forward to a season of sensational art fueled by strong women with something powerful to say.

See you in the audience!

The Long Center  |  701 W Riverside Dr, Austin, TX 78704

The Long Center offers nearby parking in two garages within easy walking distance of the theater:

1.) One Texas Center, located at the southeast corner of S. 1st Street and Barton Springs Road, is a quick four-minute walk from the venue and is easier to access and depart before and after performances. There is an $8 charge per vehicle to park in this structure. Enter this garage off of Haywood Avenue.

2.) City of Austin's Palmer Events Center Garage, located behind and to the east of the Long Center. This structure has two entrances—the South Entrance on Barton Springs Road and North Entrance on Riverside Drive. There is an $8 charge per vehicle to park in this structure.

  • Paid valet parking is available at the Long Center for $18 per car. For valet parking, drop-off by driving eastbound on Riverside Drive and entering the first drive on your right past the Long Center (please stay in the right-hand lane of the Keller Williams Circular Drive). Valet Parking will close 15 minutes prior to show time (evenings at 7:15 p.m., matinees at 1:45 p.m.), so valet park only if you are arriving early. If you're running late, skip the valet line and head straight to one of the garages.
    • The entrance to Valet Parking is off of Riverside Drive as you head east toward the intersection of Riverside Drive and S. 1st Street. The Valet entrance will be the first of two driveways on the right side of the street. The second drive on the right leads to the entrance of the Palmer Garage.
  • ADA Accessibility: The Palmer Garage has 24 accessible/handicapped parking spaces located closest to the garage elevators on each level. Patrons may also enter the valet line through the first entrance to the Long Center off of Riverside Drive and pull up to the curb to drop off at the main entrance. Elevator access is available through the ground level doors for Rollins Lobby next to the Box Office. Staff will be available to direct you should you need assistance.
