THROUGHOUT HISTORY, WOMEN HAVE GIVEN LIFE TO ART AS CREATORS, PERFORMERS, PATRONS, COLLECTORS, TEACHERS, CRITICS, AND MUSES FOR THOSE SEEKING INSPIRATION...
You’ll witness their influence through our new season, highlighting female artists, choreographers, and characters as diverse and dynamic as the dance works we’re bringing you. Together, we’ll explore themes universal to the human experience—sacrifice, courage, sensuality, temptation, acceptance, and forgiveness—while celebrating the unique perspectives female artists bring to the stage. Our 2018/19 FEMMES DE FORCE season includes a collection of classical ballets, contemporary works, and an exciting world premiere!
GRIMM TALES is a contemporary retelling of some of society’s best-known cautionary tales. It was inspired by the thought-provoking visual art of Austin native Natalie Frank, whose work explores themes of power, sexuality, gender, feminism, and identity. Grimm Tales is our first dance work underwritten through the generosity of the Butler New Choreography Endowment. Look for its debut in March 2019.
Your seat is waiting for these popular productions, along with a chance to elevate your experience as a BALLET AUSTIN VIP. As a donor, you’ll enjoy exclusive bene ts at the theater while joining our mission to create new dance works.
Look forward to a season of sensational art fueled by strong women with something powerful to say.
See you in the audience!
