Workshops for different stages of life!
Ballet Austin’s mission includes involving and strengthening our community and encouraging health and wellbeing. We offer workshops to keep you active through a variety of life events; Babywearing and mat classes for new parents, Intro to working out, Pink Pilates, Active Aging, and more. These workshops are taught by certified fitness and Pilates instructors, and will help you progress and feel confident.
Babywearing DANCE Class – for parents and their little ones to bust a move together!
Yes! This is for new parents (moms or dads) and their babies! (grandparents welcome too!)
Recommended for parents and their new babies 0-8 months of age (or as long as you can wear your baby!). NO Dance experience required!
Are you ready to get your workout in, move your body, and work on your own health and wellness while your baby stays close? Move and groove with your little one to fun, upbeat music and build connection and community with fellow parents with infants. Super-fun instructor!
Bring your baby and your baby carrier and head to the dance studio for an hour-long light cardio class that offers a blend of conditioning, dance and parent-child connection principles that will help you focus on your overall health and wellness.
This Babywearing Dance workout is great for all fitness levels. Start where you are and move how you can.
No dance experience required. Come move and groove!

Remember, after baby is born you should get back to working out slowly and gently. You might feel ready mentally, but your body has gone through something so intense, you need to be patient with it. Your internal organs are only just settling back to where they should be, your hips have actually moved position, your abs don’t meet yet, plus you’re probably not sleeping much, so anything involving too much energy, or balance, makes you feel fuzzy. This workout is just what you need. AND…baby gets to come too!
We also welcome babywearing dads, nannies, grandparents, and other care givers.
Class is taught by a dance instructor and mother!

Deep Stretch Workshop for Dancers (and non-dancers!)
Learn how to properly deep stretch your muscles. Just what every dancer (person) needs!
This workshop is focused on stretching and releasing tight muscles and tendons. Research has shown that stretching your muscles will activate your parasympathetic nervous system. This activation results in an increase of blood flow and endorphins, resulting in a feeling of calmness and relaxation. But it’s also important to keep those muscles and tendons healthy and strong.
Benefits over time include: Decreased risk of injuries. Help your joints move through their full range of motion. Increased muscle blood flow. Muscles to work most effectively. Exactly what dancers need! Not a dancer? No worries…everyone can benefit from a deep stretch.
Once you learn how to safely deep stretch you can continue this practice at home! Every dancer at every level needs this!
Make sure your body is warmed up before each class. Attending a ballet class right before this class is highly recommended.
Please bring a mat.
