Ballet Austin’s Pilates Reformer Studio at the Dell Jewish Community Center

Ballet Austin’s state-of-the-art Pilates Reformer Studio @ the J is located in the beautiful Dell Jewish Community Center, 7300 Hart Ln, Austin, TX 78731. Ballet Austin and the Dell JCC share a desire to build community and offer programming to improve health and well-being.

Group Reformer Sessions with a maximum capacity of 7 allows for more personal attention during your workout. Private and duet sessions are also available.

You do not have to be a member of the JCC. We welcome JCC members and non-members alike to join us for a Pilates Reformer workout.

How to Get Started at Ballet Austin’s Pilates Reformer Studio @ the J

Whether you want to strengthen your core, rehab from an injury, improve flexibility and balance, or power through a dynamic workout, Pilates Reformer workouts offer benefits no matter your age or level of fitness. Whether a beginner to exercise, or an elite athlete, a Pilates Reformer practice is proving to be one of the top workouts for 2024, and is one of the best things you can do for you!

Get started with a Private Pilates session with one of our certified instructors, or join a Group Pilates Reformer Session. Keep reading for details.

Option 1: Pilates Group Reformer Sessions @ the J

Group Reformer sessions provide the opportunity to work out in a small group setting (maximum capacity of 7) rather than one-on-one.

**No prerequisite (Reformer experience) required in group Reformer Sessions labeled ALL LEVELS.

  • To sign up for a Pilates Group Reformer Session with a prerequisite, a client must have previous Pilates reformer experience and the prerequisite attached to your MINDBODY account. 
    • If you are new and do have previous Pilates Reformer experience elsewhere, please email us for approval at vicki.parsons@balletaustin.org
    • If you are a current member of Dell JCC please first create your MINDBODY account.  Then email vicki.parsons@balletaustin.org. Let us know you are a member of JCC. We will verify your membership and add the JCC ID to your MINDBODY account.

Group Pilates Reformer sessions operate on a single visit reservation basis and may accommodate up to 7 people. Start at any time and take a scheduled group session as your schedule permits, and as space in a class is available. We welcome JCC members and non-members alike!

    1. After choosing and signing up for your session* you will be prompted to make a payment if you do not yet have a current pricing option on your account. Rates Here. FIRST CLASS only $25!
    2. ***To sign up for a Pilates group reformer session, a client must have previous Pilates reformer experience and the prerequisite attached to your MINDBODY accountIf you are new and do have previous experience on the reformer, please email us for approval

*NOTE: Group Session reservations may be cancelled up to 12 hours prior to the scheduled Pilates Reformer session time.  Late cancellations (those within 12 hours of the class), result in a loss of the payment.

3 Private Pilates Reformer Sessions for New Clients @ the J – $220 for 3!

Valued at $234, this package is offered to NEW Pilates Reformer Clients for only $220. ($175 for JCC members*)

Prefer to learn more about Pilates and the Pilates Reformer working one-on-one in a private setting? Get started with 3 private sessions that will introduce you to the Pilates Reformer and the Pilates method workout. As you work privately with one of our certified and experienced Pilates instructors you will discover how Pilates will benefit you.  After completing your 3 private sessions your instructor will recommend continuing with private Reformer Pilates or Group Reformer Pilates based on where you are in your workout journey and your goals.

*To receive this rate you must verify your JCC membership before making a purchase. CREATE your MINDBODY account. Then email us to add the JCC member ID. After the initial INTRO Offer for JCC members, the private and duet sessions are not offered at a discount.

    • Include preferred days and times. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request.

    • Booking requests are answered weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
  • *Duet (2 people) are also available. DUETS require TWO people to book at the same time and each person must make a purchase for the session. You must make arrangements for your own duet partner.

Continuing with Pilates Reformer Private/Duet Sessions

Private/Duet Pilates Reformer sessions allow for customized workouts with a certified and experienced Pilates instructor, addressing the client’s specific needs and goals, similar to working with a personal trainer.

Pilates Reformer Private/Duet sessions may be booked at times when a group Pilates Reformer session is not scheduled at the JCC. Booking requests* will be matched with instructor availability.

HOW TO BOOK after making a purchase:

  • Book your private/duet session by emailing pilates@balletaustin.org
    • Mention to are booking a private or duet* session at the JCC
      • *If requesting a duet session please mention the name of your duet partner when booking. (each will require a payment)
      • Request days and time and length of session (45 or 60 minutes)
    • The Master Instructor rate is for private/duet sessions booked with Ballet Austin Pilates Program Director Vlada Sheber
    • Allow at least 48 hours notice to book your private session.
    • Booking requests are answered weekdays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT.

What is Pilates and what are the benefits?

Pilates is a system of more than 500 exercises that condition the whole body as well as engage the mind. The blend of resistance, strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates works the entire body simultaneously through continuous motion, with a specific focus on the core, the body’s “powerhouse” (abdomen, back and pelvic region).

Pilates can make a difference in your health without taking a toll on your body. Benefits all ages and all levels of fitness.

The benefits of Pilates are many. Since it’s creation 100 years ago, Pilates has been practiced to increase muscle strength, develop a strong core and improve flexibility, posture, and balance. Additional research suggests that Pilates also has a wide range of mental health benefits and is a great cross-training workout for athletes.

What can I expect in my first Pilates Session?

If you are new to Pilates and trying a Pilates Reformer workout for the first time, your first session is all about you.

  • You will learn about the Pilates equipment, how Pilates works, and be introduced to the basic Pilates exercises.
  • Our professionally certified instructors will individualize a workout program that is safe and challenging, focusing on your body’s needs.
  • You will have the opportunity to ask questions to determine the best plan for Pilates moving forward.
  • Keep in mind that Pilates, like anything else, takes practice and time.
  • Pilates will benefit people of all ages and fitness levels. The more you do the better you’ll feel!
