Choose Your Starting Path

Most clients start with one of the two options below. Both work — it just depends on how you like to learn.

Best for most new clients

Option A: 3 Intro Private Sessions

One-on-one instruction to learn the reformer and build confidence at your own pace.

Purchase Intro Privates (Downtown)

Valued at over $240, this private lesson package is only $188. (3 45 minute Private Lessons) 

This option is perfect for those who prefer one-on-one feedback, who have specific injuries or needs that require more focused attention, or those who thrive in setting with less people.

Pilates Group Reformer Class

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Option B: Beginner Group Class

Join a small group class and learn in a supportive setting. Basic-level classes offered weekly.

Valued at $158–$170 per person, this duet package is only $135 per person. (2 people must book together)

Find someone to be your workout buddy and get started with Pilates together! Once you have completed your duet sessions you will be ready to sign up for group reformer classes.

  • Each partner must make a purchase and book together by emailing pilates@balletaustin.org
  • Mention you are a new client wanting to book a DUET 45-minute session at the downtown Austin location.
  • Include the name of your DUET partner when booking.
  • Both partners are required to attend together. You must arrange your own duet partner.

Bring a workout partner

Option C: Duet Sesions

Start Pilates together with a friend or family member in a shared private session.

FAQs

Pilates is a system of more than 500 exercises that condition the whole body as well as engage the mind. The blend of resistance, strength and flexibility training improves posture, reduces stress and creates long, lean muscles without bulking up. Pilates works the entire body simultaneously through continuous motion, with a specific focus on the core, the body’s “powerhouse” (abdomen, back and pelvic region).

We offer equipment-based group classes and private sessions. You can find out more about our Pilates equipment here.

The Benefits of Pilates

Pilates can make a difference in your health without taking a toll on your body. Benefits all ages and all levels of fitness.

The benefits of Pilates are many. Since it’s creation 100 years ago, Pilates has been practiced to increase muscle strength, develop a strong core and improve flexibility, posture, and balance. Additional research suggests that Pilates also has a wide range of mental health benefits and is a great cross-training workout for athletes.

Your first session is all about you.

  • Learn about the Pilates equipment, how Pilates works, and be introduced to the basic Pilates exercises.
  • Our professionally certified instructors will individualize a workout program that is safe and challenging, focusing on your body’s needs.
  • Feel free to ask lots of questions!
  • Keep in mind that Pilates, like anything else, takes practice and time.

Pilates group reformer classes require experience.

  • At least 2 private reformer sessions are required and 5 are recommended before booking group reformer classes.
  • If you are not new to Pilates and do have previous experience at another studio, please call 512-501-8704 to have the prerequisite added to your profile.

You will need a MINDBODY account to book and purchase classes at Ballet Austin.
