Experience dance from around the world. Classes only $10.
Ballet Austin joins countries across the world to celebrate diversity through dance on one day – International Dance Day! Every year on April 29 the world celebrates dance.
Dance is a common language that unites us all on some level, and as we explore cultural dances, we discover a commonality between many cultures. The value of dance as a crucial form of cultural expression has been evident for centuries. We believe that dance reinforces the idea that there is an essence of unity in all human beings, despite our cultural differences or diversities. That, we celebrate!
International Dance Day was founded in 1982 by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute and is celebrated worldwide every year on April 29. The goal of International Dance Day is to celebrate dance, to revel in the universality of this art form, to cross all political, cultural and ethnic barriers and bring people together with a common language—dance. International Dance Day is celebrated across the world on April 29.
Ages: Classes are open to adults and teens ages 13 and older on International Dance Day*. We welcome families on International Dance Day with children ages 8-12 when accompanied by a parent/adult.
