CURBSIDE VALET PARKING

Paid valet parking is available with drop-off and pick-up locations next to the Long Center’s box office and main entrances. Please note parking rates are subject to change based on special events.

• Drop off by driving east on Riverside Drive, and enter the first drive on your right as your approach the Long Center.

• $20 per vehicle, cash only, for valet to place car in garage*.
• $40 per vehicle, cash only for parking on circle drive*.

ADA ACCESSIBILITY

The Palmer Events Center garage has 24 accessible/handicapped parking spaces located closest to the elevators on each level.

• Patrons may also enter the valet line through the first entrance to the Long Center off of Riverside Drive and pull up to the curb to drop off guests with mobility challenges at the main entrance.

• Elevator access is available through the Ground Level lobby door next to the box office.

• Staff will be available to direct you should you need assistance.

Synopsis

The Frog King

There was a king who had three daughters, the youngest of which was as beautiful as the sun. Her favorite toy was a golden ball. One day, the princess tossed her ball and it landed in a deep well. Suddenly, a frog appeared, who agreed to retrieve the ball if the princess would take him home with her. Thrilled to have her toy back, the princess ignored the frog and returned to the castle only to find the frog had followed her home to dinner. Hearing the frog’s story, the king insisted that his daughter keep her promise. In frustration, the princess threw the frog against the wall with all her might.

The frog transformed into a handsome prince with beautiful eyes, and the princess recognized him to be her true love and life’s companion.

Snow White

A queen wished for a daughter and soon gave birth to a princess called “Snow White.” The queen died after the child was born, and the princess’ father took another wife who was beautiful. She couldn’t stand anyone who was more beautiful than she, and every morning, she looked into a magic mirror asking this question:

“Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who in this land is fairest of all?”

The mirror always answered that the queen was the most beautiful, until one day, when Snow White had grown up, the mirror answered differently:

“You, my queen, are fair; it’s true. But Snow White is a thousand times fairer than you.”

The queen was so jealous that she ordered a huntsman to kill Snow White and bring back her heart. The huntsman set out as commanded, but took pity on the princess and let her escape. Instead, he killed a boar and took its heart back to the queen, who celebrated by eating what she thought was the dead girl’s organ. Meanwhile, Snow White found shelter in the cottage of woodsmen. When they returned home from work and found her asleep, they agreed to let her stay.

The evil queen soon learned that Snow White was alive. Three times she disguised herself and attempted to kill Snow White, first with a corset laced too tight, then with a poisoned hair comb, and finally, with a poisoned apple. This third time the woodsmen could not revive Snow White. However, as they prepared to lay her to rest in the forest, they dislodged the poisoned apple she had swallowed. Snow White came back to life. To punish the evil queen, the woodsmen brought forth a pair of iron shoes, heated by coals, and forced her to put them on and dance until she died.

The Juniper Tree

There was a rich man whose wife hoped for a baby. Time passed, and the woman did give birth to a boy but died immediately after the delivery. Her husband buried her under a juniper tree near their house. He later married another woman and had a daughter with her. The boy’s stepmother treated the boy badly, and one day, overcome with evil thoughts, the stepmother lured the boy to lean over a big chest of fruit, slammed the lid on him, and cut off his head. She convinced her daughter to help her cook the boy into a pie, which she served her husband for dinner that evening.

The man found the pie delicious, throwing his son’s bones under the table as he consumed the entire pan. The daughter gathered her brother’s bones and placed them under the juniper tree. The tree began to move and a fiery mist appeared from it. A beautiful bird emerged from the fire. The bird flew around the countryside, explaining its plight, and eventually returned to the juniper tree with items collected on its journey. Though the return of the bird filled the stepmother with dread, the father was happy to see him. The bird gave the father a golden chain and the daughter a pair of shoes, but when the stepmother came outside, the bird rolled a millstone on her head, crushing her to death. With that, the bird transformed back into the boy, and joyfully greeted his father and sister.
