SUMMER CAMPS TO CELEBRATE CREATIVITY & INDIVIDUALITY

Celebrate what makes you uniquely YOU through creative play and movement. Create amazing works of art based on Ballet Austin productions THE UGLY DUCKLING and SWAN LAKE as you swim with ducklings and pond friends. Sign up for one (or both) of these awesome experiences, and swim into the summer with Ballet Austin!
Throughout the week, campers will engage in activities that bring awareness to ideas of acceptance, kindness and, making thoughtful choices. Campers will be divided into groups based on their age. On the last day of Summer Camp from 4-4:30 p.m., parents are invited to join their camper for a behind the scenes look.
To keep it simple, Ballet Austin will use Sept. 1, 2020, as the date to classify a camper’s age.

WHO CAN SIGN UP?
We welcome campers 4-7 years old. Campers will be divided into groups based on their age. To keep it simple, Ballet Austin will use Sept. 1, 2020, as the date to classify a campers age.
WHEN DO THE CAMPS TAKE PLACE?
We are hosting two (2) one-week, full-day summer camps based on Ballet Austin’s upcoming repertoire. The first week, June 1-5, will be based on THE UGLY DUCKLING, while the second week, June 8-12, will be based on SWAN LAKE. Students can sign up for one or both camps!
WHAT ARE THE DAILY HOURS OF SUMMER CAMP?
Summer camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.. To accommodate the working parent, we ask that campers be dropped off between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. and picked up between 4:3o p.m. and 5 p.m.
HOW MUCH DOES SUMMER CAMP COST?
Enrollment for each week costs $365.
WHAT IS AN AVERAGE DAY LIKE?
Campers will begin and end each day all together in the Mills/Ruiz studio. During the day, campers will rotate between a variety of activities and meal times.
The activities of the day will include a dance class, arts and crafts, a time for quiet activity or nap and the plenty of fun collaborative games and free play.
Dance classes will include creative movement games, pre-ballet activities, and ballet video watch parties as we explore the history and story of THE UGLY DUCKLING and/or SWAN LAKE.
In art, campers will produce theme-related works inspired by the ballet and it’s characters. They will also be exploring the fascinating history of ballet costuming.
WHAT WILL MY CHILD NEED TO ATTEND SUMMER CAMP?
Campers will have a lunch break along with two (2) snack times. We ask parents to prepare their child’s lunch and snack each day.
Upon arrival, we will have separate bins designated for each snack and lunch. Following the first day, parents will be provided with themed stickers to label your child’s meals.
We ask parents to refrain from providing their child with any peanut products in the event any of the other student possesses a peanut allergy.
Campers will also need a reusable water bottle.
Additionally, campers can bring a pillow or nap mat to get comfortable during the quiet activity.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR TO CAMP?
Campers should come dressed in comfortable play clothes and shoes. Ballet slippers are not required.
