Ballet Austin acknowledges the arts and arts education as essential elements in the educational process necessary for the intellectual and social development of all human beings. Ballet Austin is committed to offering educators resources and opportunities to provide young people with arts experiences, specifically in dance.


Research demonstrates that students benefit socially and academically from sustained involvement in the arts. Students in arts-rich environments have higher concepts of their academic ability, are achieving at higher rates on standardized test scores and are more engaged in schools.

Tours of Ballet Austin

Gain an insider’s perspective into Ballet Austin by taking a field trip to our Butler Dance Education Center. Observe a dance class or a rehearsal, see real ballet costumes and pointe shoes, learn more about our dance companies and programs, and have all of your questions about ballet and Ballet Austin answered by our knowledgeable Community Education staff. This tour will give you a better understanding of all elements that help bring a ballet to the stage.

Studio Rehearsal Viewings

Requests for rehearsal viewings are currently suspended.  We will resume in-person and virtual bookings once the dancers are back in the studio rehearsing. Please sign up for updates below.

Gain an insider’s perspective into the dance-making process by observing professional dancers in rehearsal. During this program, students will see the process up close, learn more about the creative process of bringing a ballet to the stage, and have their questions answered by our Community Education staff.

Master Classes for Schools

We are booking virtual master classes only at this time.

Book a dance or fitness class for your students with one of Ballet Austin’s professional Butler Dance Education Center instructors. Classes are available at all levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) in a variety of techniques including ballet, contemporary, modern,  jazz, hip hop, Broadway, tap, hula, ballet barre & core, floor barre, Pilates-based mat classes (Cardio, Arms & Abs & Legs, Stretch & Tone), and more! Class availability is based on instructor and studio availability.

Recommended for:

  • middle school, high school, and college-aged dance students

Length of Program: 

  • Dance Classes run 1 to 1.5 hours.
  • Fitness classes run 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  • $150 per hour for each group (groups are limited to 25 people per class)

In-School Residency Programs

EduMoves™ VIRTUAL

Pre-K4 through 5th Grade

EduMoves VIRTUAL is Ballet Austin’s online on-demand program which prioritizes students’ well-being and physical activity. This weekly series of three 10-15 minute video lessons features activities grounded in mindfulness, multiple genres of dance, and themed yoga flows, and is designed to be as flexible as possible for both the campus and home environments.

EduMovesDANCE

Due to school district COVID-19 protocols, this program is suspended until further notice. 

Pre-K4 through 2nd Grade

Our EduMoves DANCE brings a weekly dance lesson directly to students on their school campuses. Dance styles from diverse cultures, genres, and eras will include pre-ballet, Hawaiian dance, Latin styles, hip hop, and more!

EduMoves TEKS

Due to school district COVID-19 protocols, this program is suspended until further notice.

Pre-K4 through 2nd Grade

EduMovesTEKS is a kinesthetic learning program that engages students directly on their school campuses in learning high priority TEKS during a weekly movement lesson rooted in dance. The curriculum is designed to provide an alternative approach to effectively teach concepts that educators have reported students are not grasping readily in a traditional classroom setting.
