Ballet Austin Foundation

Here for Good

In 2016, the Ballet Austin Foundation kicked off a permanent fundraising effort called Here for Good to secure endowment and legacy gifts that will set in motion a bold vision for Ballet Austin’s future.

Gifts made today will create a permanent impact beyond our lifetimes, ensuring that future generations will benefit from a legacy we all can create. Ballet Austin is here to INNOVATE, here to TEACH, and here to SERVE… We are Here for GOOD.

Here to INNOVATE

Ballet Austin focuses on creating innovative new work while preserving the rich tradition of classical ballet. Each season, Artistic Director Stephen Mills carefully curates our programming to provide diverse artistic offerings including his own original productions, pieces by other dance-makers and a selection of the classics. The creation process requires not only choreography but also collaboration amongst artists including the dancers, composers, set designer and costume makers.

Your support in this area brings these productions to the stage and perpetuates Ballet Austin’s growing reputation as a leading innovator in the field of dance.

Here to TEACH

There is no dance without dancers. Teaching the next generation of artists through the Ballet Austin Academy, Summer Intensive Program, Butler Fellowship Program and Ballet Austin II apprenticeship is our responsibility—and our role—in building the pipeline of emerging professional artists. These talented dancers come to us from around the globe, representing all socio-economic backgrounds.

Your support ensures they can pursue their passion by removing financial barriers and enabling talent to flourish unfettered, which will attract more and more of the world’s most promising dancers to develop their careers in Austin.

Here to SERVE

Elementary school students come to the ballet for the first time. Older adults build their balance so they might age with grace and strength. A breast cancer survivor finds the hope to rebuild her fortitude. The seed of talent and creativity grows within the walls of a Title I school. Those who cannot afford tickets are invited to share the final dress rehearsal of a performance as our guests.

Making dance and fitness accessible to our community is at the foundation of our mission, and your support makes it possible for us to serve.

“Endowment gifts supporting our artistic productions and community programs live in the hearts and minds of all who experience them.
