Pre-Ballet Division (Ages 6-7)

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The curriculum of the Pre-Ballet Division is designed to be a bridge between the content and feel of Young Children’s Division and the more traditional classical ballet format of the Elementary Division. We introduce more ballet components as we progress from 6 to 7-year-old classes and gently prepare students for Level 1 when they begin the progressive syllabus of the Elementary Division.

Pre-Ballet 6 is open to children who have turned 6 by September 1, 2022.

Pre-Ballet 7 is open to children who have turned 7 by September 1, 2022.

WHY TRAIN AT BALLET AUSTIN ACADEMY

  • This program is a prelude to formal ballet instruction and introduces children to music and movement through a structured progression that emphasizes creativity and group interaction.
  • The Pre-Ballet syllabus is introduced at a time when fine and gross motor skills are becoming more refined.
  • By introducing students to the basic shapes, positions, postures and traditions of classical ballet, the Pre-Ballet curriculum enhances both cognitive and physical development at this important time.
  • At the end of the School Year, Pre-Ballet students participate in the Academy Spring Presentation.*

*These events are tentative, pending updates to health and safety standards and mandates that may be in place at that time.
