The power and beauty of ballet was never more clear than when it unexpectedly went away. We embark upon this new season invigorated, with joy in our hearts and unbridled excitement to share this invaluable and incomparable artform.
This season I am excited to present a fantastic collection of productions. Through timeless classics, The Nutcracker and Cinderella, we enjoy the mesmerizing stories that foster unparalleled performances worth revisiting year after year, decade after decade. With a new take on agency through a shifted perspective, The Taming of the Shrew explores the inspiration of William Shakespeare’s riotous reflection.
In Sarah’s Songs, we celebrate Austin’s own Sarah and Ernest Butler and their love for the arts with a trio of versatile works: George Balanchine’s neoclassical masterpiece Serenade, Jessica Lang’s contemporary Garden Blue, and the world premiere of my newest piece.
Returning to Austin after ten years, Light / The Holocaust & Humanity Project follows the inspiring and profoundly impactful story of survivor Naomi Warren. Join us as we follow Naomi’s path and witness her courage, resistance, and resilience.
I hope this season, and the selection of stories we will tell, brings you much happiness and fulfillment. The dancers and I look forward to sharing this remarkable season.

MAY 12-14 | THE LONG CENTER
This enduring rags-to-princess story offers the promise of “happily ever after.” Stephen Mills brings this treasured fairy tale of perseverance and love to life, with a compiled score from Alexander Glazunov and live accompaniment. Add a dose of humor to the majesty of classical ballet, and Cinderella becomes the perfect way to close Ballet Austin’s 2022/23 Season with four performances on Mother’s Day weekend.

Save 20% and enjoy total flexibility when you become a season ticket holder! You’ll also receive 20% off any additional tickets you purchase (including our most popular productions), receive special offers before the general public, and get free ticket exchanges.
Same seat renewals are only available when you purchase 4 and 5 seat packages for Ballet Austin productions at the Long Center.
Season Ticket Payment Plan Info
Ballet Austin offers payment plans allowing you to purchase your 2022/23 season tickets in up to four (4) installments. To set up a payment plan, please contact Ticketing Services weekdays from noon to 5 p.m. CT via email at boxoffice@balletaustin.org or by phone at 512.476.2163.
2022/23 Season Ticket Payment Plan Deadlines
- 4 months: Wednesday, April 27, 2022
- 3 months: Friday, May 27, 2022
- 2 months: Monday, June 27, 2022

- Complete Flexibility: Come when you want. Sit where you want. Spend what you want.

- Exchange purchased tickets for different performance dates or different productions with no exchange fee(s)*.
- Have tickets replaced or reprinted any time at no cost.
- Return tickets you can’t use and receive credit for a tax-deductible donation.
*A $10 exchange fee will be charged per order for ticket exchanges by non-season ticket holders.

Gift Certificate(s) from the canceled 2020 Ballet Austin performances have been consolidated into Ballet Austin Credits that are saved to your personal account and will never expire.
